I think they just map everything that they have so far and show everything they have so far into a 3D perspective. You can sorta tell it isn't actually a satellite or something, because if it was it would of showed the stars our scientist haven't graphed.

They also have if I remember a huge telescope in the north pole (yay Santa ). But I've also heard they just recently let loose a satalite that will travel way far out to show the rest of the solar system. And that video is a bit off in a way, because I've heard they've found 3 or 4 other planets in our solar system and it doesn't show those. They know so much about other galaxies and yet they haven't found planets that our in our solar system. They think way to much outside the box I guess >.>

We are not alone...

They use thermal mapping with the hubble space telescope to map the locations. They have no way of telling what it looks like that there looking at when using thermal imaging. Thermal imaging in space works over a course of time. First they look in a direction of space with the thermal imaging to see light (light gives off heat) that is emitted by other stars galaxies and planets. Over a period of time they continually look in that same direction and map the same area. Then they compare with the previous maps calculate in hubbles orbit around earth and then calculate if the object(s) they were mapping have moved or changed thermal light intensities and to see if what they are looking at has changed location in space or moved. After this is done scientists then compare certain characteristics of things they already know and apply them to reason on deciding if what they are looking at is a planet, star, galaxy, and/or constellations. This same process is used with ultraviolet light waves as well. This method is only really used on viewing objects many light years away. Hubble can also take multiple images of an area while panning space and then nasa prints them out and puts it together like a puzzle. @trail There are only 8 planets in our solar system. They dropped pluto a year or so ago as a planet. The other so called maybe planets are stars. Because of thermal imaging and time it takes for light to travel that distance scientists once again apply knowledge about things they already know to determine what it is or isnt that they are looking at. An example of this is in the video. How do scientists claim to be looking at light from the big bang? Thermal Imaging.. Also when looking at things un heard of and never seen or heard of before scientist have to think outside the box. That is why everything that they are unsure of or cannot prove with science becomes a theory. EX: Big Bang Theory!!! So then you ask yourself if it is a theory (remember they don't know what there looking at) how can the light from the Big Bang be in the video? The answer is no one really knows what it is but this is what scientists theorize it is because with thermal imaging they applied what they already knew about other similar objects in other words there opinion. This is why athiests say no god. because most not all but most agree with the scientists theory of big bang/evolution. Religion stats god made all of this. But if god made it where was god when nothing was here? These are both sides of the argument but however are only 1 part of the overall argument.

I watch way too much science channel, history channel, and discovery channel. My women hates it. LOL! She doesn't understand why i don't like reality tv but in her words like this garbage. LOL
