Well we have a working title for the next Superman movie. It was originally supposed to be called The Man of Steel to mirror The Dark Knight and that may still be the title. Superman Returns came with mixed reviews due to its lack of action. People didn’t realize that it was a direct sequel to Superman II, III and IV were forgotten because they were steaming piles of sh*t (Richard Pryor and Nuclear Man, WTF?!). They criticized it for its lack of action and painting the story into a corner with Lois’ baby. But if people remember when Singer did X-Men it wasn’t THAT action packed either. He wanted to set up the story first and then he stepped it up for X2. That WAS the plan with this trilogy.


However across the board everyone loved Bran Routh as Superman/Clark Kent as did I. I thought Bryan Singer did a great job as well, he left X3 for this (another reason it sucked). Actually the entire movie was well cast and the new suit was ill. But it wasn’t nearly the success DC had hoped for and it was VERY expensive to make and they barely broke even. So they were talking about totally rebooting the series like the Hulk. I think this would be a mistake, I’d keep Routh and Singer on. You can’t just find any dude off the street to play F’ing Superman, like Bruce Wayne, you have a serious duality between the alter ego and the hero.

So now we hear word of Unleashed, at this point it’s not known if this is a sequel or reboot or if Singer and Routh are gonna be back. They’re using the “Unleashed” to let everyone know that Supes is gonna get his hands dirty in this one and actually fight in this one!! Lex isn’t gonna be the main baddie, so whoever the it is, he’s gonna be someone on his level. Doomsday, Darkseid and Lobo come to mind. There were rumors a few years back when Returns first dropped, of Jude Law being the new General Zod. I could see that and he’s a great actor to boot.




See, DC needs to do what Marvel is doing and establish continuity within it’s movies, the problem is that DC is owned by Warner Brothers. And we all know that all studios wanna do is make money regardless of whether the movies are as good as they could be. Marvel on the other hand has it’s own studio now with Ironman and Hulk being the first. So they have full control over their entire universe except for Spider-Man which none other than Sony owns (that’s why the Spider-Man font was used for the PS3). Batman and Watchmen and the scrapped Justice League movie (gonna be TRASH) show that they’re going in the right direction at this point.
